Achilles tendinitis is a common foot condition located at the back of the ankle whereby the tendon that connects the calf muscle to the heel is inflamed.  This tendon feels like a thick string at the back of your ankle and the inflammation, without treatment, can result is terrible pain.

For athlete’s and those very active on their feet, achilles tendinitis is more common because the tendon gets overworked, overwhelmed, and the result from this stress is swelling.  Achilles tendinitis may begin with mild pain and increase in severity if one does not apply treatment and rest.
