Plantar Fasciitis Treatment - Scottsdale & Sun City Podiatry

Podiatry Treatment That Heals Foot Pain

The onset of foot pain can leave a person scared, wondering if their pain will ever disappear.  Dr. Michael Stegman and Dr. John Erotas help patients relieve foot pain everyday and most importantly, we want you to know that your foot pain doesn't have to last forever.  Almost all foot pain is treatable and we will figure out the cause, treat it, and help you get back to healthy pain-free feet.

One of the most common foot conditions is plantar fasciitis and this foot condition occurs when the plantar fascia band, located in the arch of the foot, inflames.  From here, this band of tissue connecting your heel bone to your toe box restricts and shortens and eventually, tissue damage occurs causing constant foot pain.

Plantar Fasciitis results from either a sudden increase of physical activity or incorrect footwear and often is likely to happen with the combination of both.  Most people don’t understand what type of footwear they need to avoid foot pain and keep their feet healthy.  Different shoes are made for different types of feet and unless you ask specifically at the shoe store what type of feet the shoes you are buying are made for, you can end up with shoes that are actually harming your feet.

Let’s say you have flat feet.  You may be wearing shoes that are made for the “average” foot or high-arches.  The reverse is true if you have high-arches.  Additionally, almost all store bought shoes include “generic” in soles, made for the “average” foot.  If you have either a high arched foot or flat feet, then these in soles can be one of the main causes of your plantar fasciitis condition.

When To See One Of Our Podiatrists

If you are experiencing any foot pain, it is time to see a podiatrist at the American Foot and Ankle Specialists.  Our Sun City podiatry and Scottsdale podiatry offices can assist you becoming finally pain-free because we will guide you to understand that the combination of corrective footwear, stretching, and strengthening of the foot will lead to healthy pain-free feet.

The corrective footwear you will need to overcome this foot condition includes both prescription podiatrist-made orthotics and of course, shoes made for your specific foot type.  Stretching exercises will loosen the calf muscle and the plantar fascia band so that it can begin to heal while strengthening exercises will help remove the weakness of the plantar fascia band.

We guarantee that after podiatry treatment at the American Foot and Ankle Specialists, you will loose this disabling foot condition and the pain that comes with it.
