Solve Plantar Fasciitis Pain

Plantar Fasciitis is not only extremely irritating but also can continue for long periods of time if you do not receive the right treatments.  In many cases, plantar fasciitis results from either an increased intensity of activity or improper footwear.  

 

Everyone has a different foot shape.  Unfortunately, the in soles in a person’s shoes are made for the generic “average” foot and this can actively harm feet that are not this average shape.  Plantar Fasciitis is particularly common for people with high-arches and flat feet.  

 

The feet just do not get the right support and are increasingly harmed by incorrect footwear.  Even shoes are made for specific foot type and if you are wearing shoes that do not support your feet, it is likely contributing to your plantar fasciitis condition. 


The way to counteract this problem is to first get you in the correct footwear.  Once you come in for your appointment at the American Foot and Ankle Specialists, we will figure out if the shoes you are wearing is supporting or harming your feet.    

 

Custom Made Orthotics 

 

I, as an experienced podiatrist, will custom make a part of orthotics for your feet.  Custom orthotics provide the maximum amount of support for the arches of your feet and prevent a wide range of foot conditions as well as helps to heal foot conditions like plantar fasciitis.  

 

Once you have the correct footwear, there are just a few simple steps you can take to fix this problem.  Firstly, much of plantar fasciitis has to do with tight calf muscles.  Using a night splint for just twenty minutes a night will have vast benefits towards loosening up the calf muscles and healing the plantar fasciitis condition as a whole. 

 

When the calfs are not tight, the plantar fascia band has less stress placed on it and can revert back to it’s normal position.  You may also want to stretch the plantar fascia band itself as well as strengthen this band through an exercise.  If plantar fasciitis has been occurring for some time, the plantar fascia band might be weak and need to be strengthened.  

 

A soft tissue massage will also help to loosen the plantar fascia band and relieve any scar tissue build up.  With the correct footwear and stretching, plantar fasciitis normally disappears after anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
