Prescription Orthotics For Foot Pain

Prescription orthotics are perhaps the most powerful foot supporting technology simply because they align with both your foot shape and walking pattern.  As a phoenix podiatrist, I create custom molded prescription orthotics that my patients can rely on.

Orthotics are usually part of the solution when treating foot pain and various foot conditions such as heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, and bunions.  Orthotics are also one of the best proven strategies to prevent foot pain.

The problem begins when someone buys a pair of shoes.  The in soles in store-bought shoes are flat, not made well, and made only for a generic “average” foot shape.  If you have either flat feet or high-arched feet, these generic in soles will actually harm your feet potentially causing a range of foot conditions and definitely causing foot pain.

Our custom made orthotics are a combination of arch supports and in soles that slip into your shoes providing extra cushion and aligning to your foot shape and walking pattern.  If you have either flat feet or high arched feet, you will see an immediate difference when wearing them and notice that your foot pain is either gone right away or within days.

Crafted to Your Lifestyle

We also craft your orthotics depending on your specific lifestyle.  For example, functional orthotics are used to control abnormal motions and decrease pain caused by abnormal motion.  They are semi-rigid and help to treat various injuries.  Another type of orthotic we make are accommodative orthotics, which are softer and provide additional cushioning.  They are great for foot ulcers or calluses.  Depending on your foot shape and complaint, we can craft an orthotics that will help your individual lifestyle.

I have used orthotics for over twenty years to help treat foot problems in my office and clinical research studies definitively show that podiatrist-prescribed foot orthotics decrease foot pain and improve function.  Most often, prescription orthotics cost more than shoe inserts purchased in a retail store but they are well worth it.  Not only do they last for years longer but because they are made to your feet, the support is unmatched.

Get Precription Orthotics Made For Your Feet

If you are suffering from foot pain, custom made orthotics will help relieve some, if not all, of your pain.  The most common foot types are flat feet and high-arched feet and if you have one of these foot types, it may be causing intense daily foot pain.

Normal store-bought insoles may be actively harming your feet by not alleviating the pressure on different parts of your feet.  This stress may be what is causing your pain and custom orthotics that fit your specific foot shape and walking pattern will create an even balance that relieves this stress and pain.

At the American Foot and Ankle Specialists, a podiatrist will also help your figure out which shoes and sneakers support your feet.  Different shoes support different foot shapes but it is difficult to tell which ones will work for you while shoe shopping.  We will go over which brands and types of sneakers or shoes you should be wearing.

It is time to see a podiatrist when you notice foot pain.  Depending on your lifestyle, we will create your prescription orthotics.  Functional orthotics are designed to control abnormal motions.  If you have a foot injury, they help adjust your walking.

Accommodative orthotics are soften and meant for additional cushioning and support.  These orthotics are for normal foot pain and match your feet in a way that relieves the stresses of walking on the areas of your foot most affected.

Custom Molded Orthotics Made For Your Foot Shape

Orthotics do normally cost more than a shoe insert purchased in a retail store but this cost is well worth it since you are on your feet for a large part of the day.  Our custom orthotics are made with top-notch materials and last many years when cared for.  In some cases, insurance helps to pay for prescription orthotics.

If you are a diabetic, orthotics are especially important because diabetes can increate your risk of foot ulcers and infections.  We can help find a solution that protects your feet from these potential issues.

As a podiatrist with over twenty years of experience, I have helped thousands of people overcome foot pain by orthotics alone.  I can guarantee you that orthotics will make your feet feel better and are usually an integral part of the solution when it comes to a painful foot condition.

Podiatrist Made Foot Orthotics

The reasons for foot pain vary, which is why seeing a podiatrist while you have foot pain is important.  Foot pain is the beginning of many foot problems and other problems throughout the body including in the back and the knee.

There is a particular reason why you are experiencing pain and as a podiatrist, I have the experience of seeing thousands of patients that I have treated with similar problems.  There are multiple treatments you may need at once to get yourself on the right track toward perfect foot health.

In regards to the feet, you will probably need custom orthotics.  Most, if not all foot pain, is helped by one’s custom orthotics.  Other issues could be shoe problems.  For example, wearing more than one pair of shoes regularly is important to prevent foot pain.  Having different pairs increases the comfortability of your feet.

There are many difference causes of foot pain: some include flat feet, high-arched feet, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, and arthritis.  Come into us at the American Foot and Ankle Specialists and we will figure out what is the cause of your foot pain.

Flat feet and high-arched feet are shapes of the foot that can cause intense foot pain.  The floor may even feel like hard concrete under your feet.  To defeat this problem, you need the right shoes and the right orthotics.

We make custom orthotics by podiatrists that especially made for your feet.  Depending on your foot condition and foot shape, we formulate the orthotics that will best suite your foot and walking style.

Sometimes a person’s feet may hurt them and they have no idea why.  They come in to see a podiatrist and find out their shoes are not right for them, or even the soles of their shoes do not support them well.  Improper foot wear can cause a lot of pain especially if you are on your feet all day at work.

An essential part of footwear is the soles within the shoes and how they fit your feet.  Everyone has a different foot and if you have a certain type of foot and are getting foot pain, you may extremely benefit from custom orthotics.

Custom orthotics are specially made soles that fit your feet perfectly and give you perfect support.  Many patients I find reduce their foot pain tremendously just by using custom orthotics.  People with flat feet, high-arched feet, those who exercise and play a lot of sports, those who work long hours on their feet may benefit from having this extra support.

The extra support provides a stability so your feet do not have to work as hard when you walk.  Custom orthotics fit comfortably on your feet so you walk in an optimal way.  The result is a supported foot and therefore, a foot that gets much less pain.  You may be surprised after getting custom orthotics how when your at work, exercising, or just walking around, your feet no longer hurt and when your feet no longer hurt, you are happier, life is better, and you can do a better job at what you are doing.

Of course foot care is crucial to daily life.  No one wants to walk around with foot pain and custom orthotics is a simple solution that can have you walking around with no pain all because your foot is being supported the right way.

Here at American Foot And Ankle Specialists we can fit you for a custom orthotic that you can then put in your shoes.  Our offices are located in Scottsdale and Sun City Arizona.  Dr. Michael Stegman and Dr.  John Erotas specialize in using custom orthotics to eliminate foot pain and provide extra support for those on their feet.
